What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis involves a natural focus of attention. In this relaxed and receptive frame of mind, you're more open to positive suggestions that can help change the way you think, feel, and behave.

You’re always fully in control – you will not be made to do anything against your will. Hypnotherapy works best when you’re actively engaged and willing to imagine the changes you want to make.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) combines the practical tools of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with the use of hypnosis. It’s an evidence-based approach that helps to change unhelpful thinking patterns, emotional reactions and behaviours.

Be sure to check out the myth-busting section on the home page to learn more about what hypnosis is – and what it isn’t.
Is there an age limit?
While research shows that hypnotherapy can be effective from around the age of 9, I currently work with clients aged 18 and over.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number of sessions, as this depends on your goals and the nature of the issue you'd like to work on. I will provide an estimated number of sessions at the start and we’ll regularly review your progress together. When we reach our final session, I’ll ensure you leave with a toolkit of strategies to support your long-term success.
Are the sessions confidential?
Yes, all sessions are confidential and what we discuss will not be shared with anyone. However, if I become concerned that you or someone else is at risk of serious harm, I am legally and ethically required to follow safeguarding guidelines. Wherever possible, I will discuss this with you first.
Can I cancel an appointment?
Absolutely. I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice so that the time can be offered to other clients. I understand that life happens and plans sometimes need to change last minute; if that’s the case, please contact me as soon as possible to re-arrange to avoid being charged for the session.
How do I pay?
I accept cash, card or bank transfer payments. Payment can be made at the end of the session.
Do I need to inform my GP?
I support clients experiencing subclinical anxiety. However, if you’ve spoken to your GP about your anxiety or work-related stress and they’ve recommended NHS therapies, it’s important to follow their guidance. With your consent, I’m happy to contact your GP to ensure that our work together complements any ongoing treatment or support you’re receiving from other professionals.
